The Rice Terraces
Although this may not be the best choice if you’re not the outdoorsy type, the rice paddies are a big part of the Indonesian culture. While the beaches of Bali may be most prominent for tourists, nature lovers might enjoy the rice paddies. Be prepared to do a little hiking as you explore the less popular but still beautiful terraces. Some of the more renowned rice paddies are Tegallang and Jatiluwih.

In Bali, dance is a huge part of the culture. There are lots of performances that are staged for tourists to enjoy. You might have to do some research to find a performance that's closest to where you're staying if you plan on viewing one.

Crafts and Arts
Every culture has lots of beautifully unique art and Indonesia is no exception. There are some beautiful paintings, wood carvings, jewelry and other artisan works that have stemmed from the traditions of the country. The village of Mas has a ton of wood carvings that embody the culture and are perfect souvenirs for yourself, as well as your friends and family. If art is more interesting for you, Ubud has artists at work and paintings to be purchased that are truly one of a kind. And lastly, jewelry. Handcrafted jewelry can often be found in the village of Celuk. All of these types of art reflect the traditions of Indonesia and can be viewed for leisure or purchased if you spot something you particularly like.

Ulun Danu Temple Set in the majestic highlands, the religious Ulun Danu Temple captures the essence of Bali perfectly. It sits on top of the clear blue water and was once used as a place of worship. Pura Ulun Danu was built in adoration to the Goddess Danu. Danu, queen of water, lakes and rivers. The architecture of the building has three colors in order to represent the three holy Gods. Bali has all kinds of spas that you can visit for a little self pampering. Along the beaches, you can find massage beds for a relaxing massage by the sea. Indonesian herbal treatments can cleanse the body of toxins and refresh you. There's a large variety of things that you can enjoy at the spa, like facials, herbal wraps, manicures, pedicures and even acupuncture if you're up for it. Whatever you decide to do, you'll surely leave feeling relaxed and freshened up.

Jimbaran Bay
For a quiet beachside dinner, Jimbaran Beach is super popular. Have a candlelit dinner of barbecued seafood by the water, but be aware that it can get rather windy at night, especially since you're by the water. If you're looking for a beautiful dining experience, Jimbaran Beach is the place to go.

Uluwatu Beach
Interested in surfing? Uluwatu has the best waves in Bali and it's where many international surf competitions take place. If you plan on visiting Bali with the intention of catching some waves, note that the best time to surf is April through September based on the direction of the wind.
